RULES & ELIGIBILITY FOR VIOLIN
The Music Academy of Kansas City Crossroads Music Auditions is open to young musicians only who are enrolled with Music Academy of Kansas City.

Applicants will be divided into 3 divisions by grade:

Division I: Kindergarten - Grade 3

Division II: Grade 4 - 7

Division III: Grade 8 -12

Applications must be submitted online by midnight Monday, April 10th, 2023.

Non-refundable fee of $40 has to be paid at the time of enrollment. Applications will not be accepted without payment.

Applicants will be notified of their performance date and time by e-mail no later than Monday, April 24th, 2023

Applicants must check-in at least 20 minutes before their performance time.

All decisions by the judges are final.

Competition performances are open to the public.
REPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS

All music must be played from memory.

Applicants must provide the judges with an original score (no photocopies) of their pieces.

Division I: Two pieces of contrasting style and character with a duration of no more than 10 minutes.

Division II: Two pieces of contrasting style and character with a duration of no more than 15 minutes.

Division III: Two pieces of contrasting style and character with a duration of no more than 20 minutes.

AWARDS
After the completion of each division, Division winners will be announced, and certificates will be awarded.

1st Place: 1st place medal and Certificate of Excellence
2nd Place: 2nd place medal and Certificate of Excellence
3rd Place: 3rd place medal and Certificate of Excellence
DIVISION II (Grades 4 - 7)
1st Place: 1st place trophy and Certificate of Excellence
2nd Place: 2nd place trophy and Certificate of Excellence
3rd Place: 3rd place trophy and Certificate of Excellence
DIVISION II (Grades K-3)
1st Place: 1st place trophy and Certificate of Excellence
2nd Place: 2nd place trophy and Certificate of Excellence
